At the end of each year, MPAC provides municipalities with the assessment roll. The assessment roll contains the assessment information for every property in Ontario.
Municipalities use this information to determine your property taxes.
In a non-assessment update year, municipalities can collect property taxes on any changes that a property may have undergone.
You will receive a Property Assessment Change Notice from MPAC if your property has undergone a change that has affected its assessed value or classification.
